“When do you schedule appointments?”

Counseling appointments are available by appointment Monday through Friday in the late afternoon and evening.   I have a limited number of evening appointments available.   Saturday appointments may be scheduled on an as-needed basis with a surcharge for a weekend session.  

 

We offer also telehealth counseling services on a per need basis.  You will need to discuss this with your counselor to determine if it’s a good fit for your situation.

 

Our office is at located at 133 Chieftain Drive, Suite 105 in Waxahachie.  Some of our therapists offer a Mobile LPC service in which sessions are conducted in the home or other appropriate location (additional charge applies for in-home therapy to account for travel time/costs).  The additional charge is based on the distance your therapist must travel.  

 

“What do I need to do to prepare for my first visit?”

Go to the Home Page and click on “Schedule Your Appointment.” This will take you to our HiPAA compliant EHR where you can sign up as a new client.  It will walk you through signing the informed consent, HiPAA notice, and the intake paperwork.  Once completed, just call the office and ask to schedule your first appointment.  If you are unable to download/print the forms, you may show up 20 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out the forms.  They will be available in the office waiting area.  Please do not email the forms to the office.

 

“What should I expect from my first visit?” 

We will discuss what motivated you to seek counseling, complete and review a biopsychosocial assessment (fancy term for learning more about you), discuss your needs and therapy goals, and determine whether or not I am the right counselor for helping you work towards those goals.  Any commitment to sessions beyond your first session is completely at your discretion.  Your session will take place in a comfortable, private office.  My personal style of counseling is respectful, empathetic, encouraging and supportive with a focus on coming alongside you to address your emotional, behavioral, and/or relational concerns.

 

“What payment methods do you accept?”

Accepted payment forms are credit, debit, check, credit card, or cash.   You can review session fees on the “Rates/Insurance” page.  There is a 2.75% additional charge when paying by credit card.  

 

“Do you accept my health insurance?”

Randel currently accepts a few insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magellan, and Cenpatico.   If you would like to utilize your insurance and I am not an in network provider, I will gladly provide you with a coded invoice you can submit for reimbursement to your insurance company based on your approved “out of network” benefits. I recommend that prior to your first session, you check with your insurance company to confirm your out of network benefits.  Payment is due at the time of services. 

 

Charity does not currently accept insurance.

 

“How many sessions should I expect to be involved in counseling?”

We will discuss this early in your counseling process.  There are a number of contributing factors to the length of counseling.  For a general idea, many clients average 5-7 sessions.  However, some clients can resolve their concerns in only a couple of sessions, while other clients require more extensive counseling.  You may choose to discontinue counseling at any time.

 

“I noticed you offer Christian Counseling; do you work with clients who are not Christians?”

Absolutely! We welcome all clients at Life by Design Wellness.  Our therapists have years of experience working with clients with diverse backgrounds, value systems, and personal beliefs.  Integrating Christian principles and values into the counseling process is completely the choice of the client.  We fully respect and honor each person’s right to autonomy in the counseling process.
